Whilst assistant to Karl Grusmark Michael owned several of his own horses until 2003. To date Michael has trained 35 winners, and placed 55 - A good strike-rate from a small number of horses. Michael has had the best possible grounding to his career. Natural ability, hard work and a positive attitude & love for the sport has been the magic to his success. When expressing that he wanted to train, Michael recalls Karl boosting his confidence by saying, "You have good instincts" 2012 was a successful year for Mike, having achieved 9 wins, 5 placed and amassing over $73,000 in prize money.
